Spark of Faith

Is there a tiny spark

of faith

within

 

Something so small

yet present

within

 

Glimmering softly

and glowing gently

within

 

Can this spark

be ignited to a flame

within

 

Lit by Love

enabling it to burn brightly

within my life

Divine Love

Divine Love within

Grow in me

 

Fill my heart

To overflowing

 

That I may pour out

For You

 

May I always seek You

Above all else

 

For You are everywhere

Always Present

 

Help me constantly

To learn from You

 

That I may grow to live

Evermore in Your Likeness

 

This day and every day

Fire!

A heart on fire

With the love of God

Is a heart

Alive

 

Within each person is a spark

A spark of the Divine

And this small spark may be kindled

And brought to life

 

The flame may grow

Through simple means

Through love, through kindness

Through compassion for one’s fellow beings

 

This flame alive with love

Is ignited from above

The Greater Flame bringing Life

And offering Love

 

This day and every day

Amen

Presence

A sense of the Divine

As part of the day

Embracing

 

Beginning with prayer

To create a space

Welcoming

 

Still then with us

In all that we do

Helping

 

Bringing a Peace

Into all that happens

Beautifully

 

Offering Love

To find a way

Unstintingly

 

Forever present

And with us

Constantly

 

This day and every day

Light

A tiny speck of light

Shimmering

So small

It almost seems a spark

Of imagination

But no, it is there

And it has significance

Keep watching

Do not let it out of sight

For it is somehow calling

Encouraging me closer

Wanting me to follow

And so I do

I find the path I am on

Narrows

But a way unfolds

And I keep walking

The light is clearer now

And my heart finds kindness

As it beckons

And leads the way

I can do no other

But to walk in the way

It is leading

The Light somehow warm

This Light so beautiful

Is somehow always present

 

This day and every day

Always Our Example

Jesus stopped

And then He stopped again

 

Time and time again

He took time to be with His Father

 

He took time out from the busyness

In order to pray

 

He needed to listen

And in order to listen, He had to step back

 

He is our example

Our living example of prayer

 

What He did

We too should do

 

For if He needed that

How much more do we?

 

We who are weak

And in need of the Spirit

 

May be fed through the Father and the Son

Showing us the Way

 

This day and every day

Breathe

Lord, I just want to sit quietly

In Your Presence

 

And breathe

 

Lord I just want to be near You

And attend to Your Spirit

 

And breathe

 

Lord, I just want to learn from You

And follow Your Heart

 

And breathe

 

Lord, I just want to reach out to You

And be touched by You

 

And breathe

 

Your Breath is all that I need

Breathe into me, I pray

 

Breathe in Your Peace

Breathe in Your Joy

Breathe in Your Love

 

This day and every day

Our Guiding Light

Walk ever towards the Light

Keep a straight path

Neither looking to left

Or right

For the Light shines ahead

As a constant

And we are not to be distracted

We are to be clear

And to know what matters most

For if we follow this Light

We will be guided

And the way will be shown

If we lose sight

We may be all over the place

And achieve little

To stay focussed and clear is important

For it means we are looking to the Light

Always remembering from where our Guidance comes

Seek Him out

Look for His Word

His Way and His Approach

Though the world around may not understand

Or may question why you act in a certain way

Keep loving

Keep living in His Truth

And seek always

The will of the Lord

Stillness

When we seek to be still

We are on a journey of discovery

We seek a part of ourselves

Inherent

Within

Given by God

For our well being

For our nurture

For our strength

For our learning

For our peace of mind

This simple spark

Alive within us all

May be nurtured

Through stillness

And may grow

Through the attention

Of prayer

And inward reflection

Focussing on God

And on the things of the Spirit

This inner life

This joy of joys

May be alive within us

And live with us

As we go about our daily lives

 

This day and every day

With Me

Spirit of God

Tender and true

Guiding me always

In Your Gentle Ways

Giving me Strength

When it is strength that I need

Teaching me slowly

To live as You show

Helping me see

What is needed to grow

But I learn so slowly

Make so many mistakes

Fall by the wayside

And remain there a while

Yet You always come

I need only call

You always are faithful

A dependable Friend

Ever protective

And always kind

Helping me up

Attending my wounds

Enabling me to walk again

My Companion alongside

On the journey with me

What more could I need?
