Divine Music

Attuning your heart

May sound simple

Yet often it is not easy

If you think of an instrument

It does not tune itself

There is one who will come

And pick it up

And fine tune the sounds

Until they are in harmony

And ready to play

The melody required

So when we seek to be attuned

We cannot do this alone

There is One who will come

And pick us up

Help tune us to His Melody

He plays constantly

His Music so sweet

And His Tune always

An Invitation

His Sound calling us

To the Beauty and Simplicity

Of His Melody

And His Music of Love

Though it may be beyond words

It can always touch our hearts

 

This day and every day

Everlasting Welcome

Help me Lord

To still my mind

To take time

To step back

And seek You

For You are worth

All my looking

You are worth

All that I can give

You are worth

All that I can bring

Yet so often I come

Encumbered

Carrying far too much

Needing first to unload

To lay down all that has been

And simply enter in

To the Beauty of Your Silence

Through the Door

That is forever open

With an Everlasting Welcome

For all who come

Seeking You

And looking for Your Ways

Of Love

Always offered to us all

 

This day and every day

Balance

This practice of stillness

Is not easy

In this world of busyness

Taking time for silence

Is equally hard

In our noisy world

And yet if you look

From another perspective

These are the things

We most need

The things from which

We are most estranged

All the more important then

To redress the balance

To seek times to be still

And to spend some time

In quietness

For the world and its demands

Will always be present

But the world of stillness

Will also always be present

Waiting

Quietly

For us to step in

And receive from the Beauty

Which is always on offer

Your Spirit

Lord

With Your Breath

Comes my breath

With Your Joy

Comes my joy

With Your Peace

Comes my peace

With Your Healing

Comes my healing

With Your Love

Comes my love

Lord

With all that You give

I receive

With all that You offer

I am blessed

For You bring all that I need

And I am grateful

Your Spirit continues to work

To bring New Life

Your Life

Your Life given freely

Given freely then

And given freely now

Lord, may I come each day

And receive of Your Goodness

Outpouring

There are times when I come

So filled up

That I know there is no room

No space for You

You seem distant

And apart

Yet I know You are still present

Then, slowly and gradually

I can unload

I can share my burdens

Release

Pour out

And then there is space

There is room being made

Only when this happens

Can Your Spirit enter in

You are always alongside me

I know You are with me

But if You are to enter in

I must make space

I must be emptied

So that I may be filled

So that Your Spirit may enter in

And be a part of me

Live at the centre of my life

And be My Lord

Whispers

Whispers

Glimmers

All so faint

And yet they make a difference

Lead us on

Encourage us

Help us to believe

For we are not left without comfort

Each one of us has the facility

To perceive

To connect

To listen and to see

And slight though these intimations may be

They serve a purpose

For they help us to see

Enable us to listen

And then to know

That there is more

We are not alone

But part of something Greater

And whichever way we choose

In our life

We can choose

In each moment

To walk in the Love

And the Light of the Eternal

 

This day and every day

This Love so precious

As you enter the Silence

Let everything else fall gently away

Lay it gently down

Not dismissing or forgetting it

But knowing that for now

It is not your focus

This is a time for you to receive

For in stillness

We are met in Love

The Holy Spirit

The Love of the Divine

Waits so quietly

Deep within

And it is in times of quiet

That this shy Wonder

May reach out

And draw near to us

This Love so precious

Is quiet

It may be perceived in stillness

But not always

Instead there may be a feeling

A sense of Peace

For this is its Gift

Which can be given to us

At any time
